Yes we do Race!
A number of trophies
are contested by racing members in
Auckland each season.
In addition to
specific racing events a number of
special events are held each year as
part of the Cruising Programme. These
events are informal, often based around
cruising to the next beach BBQ!
From November to
February a series of gulf races are
held.
In January there is a
class race from Mahurangi to Auckland as
part of the Auckland Anniversary Day
Regatta.
A Ladies Race is held
as part of the Summer Cruising
Programme. The lady must take the helm
no later than when the yacht crosses the
starting line and remain at the helm
until the course is complete.
All members are
welcome to participate in any race,
especially if they haven’t raced
before. The rivalry is friendly and
there’s a lot to be learned from
watching those more experienced.
