Anchor Light
Vic and Kay on board Liffey
have adapted a solar garden light from
the Warehouse to use an anchor light.
The light sits in the rod holder mounted
on the pushpit. Since they now have an
outboard an extension is being made to
lift the light up high enough. The
advantage with this set up is it won't
run the boat battery flat and the light
switches on at night and off in the
morning automatically. The light has a
small battery that charges up during the
day using a solar panel built into the
light. The cost of the light is less
than $20. An additional advantage is you
don't have to climb the mast to change
the bulb.
