Strengthening an H28 for Rough Conditions

1. Hatch area - step in boat around about 12-14 inch hatch box set into cockpit - this prevents water from getting down below in the event of wave coming into cockpit - it is the same height as the seat - a continuation of the seat - also reduces the amount of cockpit water in the event of being swamped

2. Some have twin forestays and twin backstays

3. Mainsail frequently has a third reef

4. Two 3x2 bearers through bow glassed in and these 3x2 run back to main bulkhead under the mast

5. A bar through windows to strengthen large window.
