Welcome to the H28 Association Incoporated Forum!

Welcome to the H28 Assoication Incoporated Forum! Before you participate, please take a few minutes to read our guidelines.

Responsibilities and rights

a. Please bear in mind that what you read in our forum area is other users' opinions and stories. The H28 Association Incorporated is not responsible for the accuracy or content of any posts and is not liable for any damage or loss that may result from your reliance on what other users have said.

b. You acknowledge that all bulletin board posts, are public and not private communications.

c. You agree that the H28 Association Incoprorated has the right to delete any post and terminate any account (that is, ban a user) with or without notice, at any time and for any reason, including, without limitation, our judgment that you've violated the Forum Guidelines. You also acknowledge that we have no obligation to delete content that you find personally objectionable or offensive.

d. You are responsible for the content of your message or behaviour, including its/your taste, reliability and completeness.

Never provide passwords, telephone numbers, or home address to anyone online. Be very careful about responding to solicitations for interviews or research. Give out your e-mail address only if you want to receive e-mail. If you post your e-mail address on the site, you've made it public and given other users tacit permission to contact you.

Never divulge private information about another user online. That includes the user's real name, e-mail address, and any other personal information that the user has not made public. Don't forward or post private messages that someone has sent you unless you have his or her permission. Please don't solicit other people's personal information.

Please don't post anything you don't have the right to publish or violate any copyright or other proprietary rights in your posts. That includes excerpting published articles, books, poetry and magazines without the author's permission. We'll delete posts that contain any such violations. It is your responsibility to check the copyright status of any such material before posting on the boards. Users of the bulletin boards should immediately inform the The H28 Association Incorporated if they see or suspect a copyright is being violated.

Screen names

Choose a screen name that's in good taste. If you select a screen name we deem vulgar or obscene or misrepresents you to other users, we'll reject your choice. Anyone who tries to impersonate a H28 Association Incorporated committee member, writer, expert, moderator, or another user will be banned immediately and without notice.

This is an open forum. Users are only asked for an email address and screen name and are not vetted in any way. We have no means of checking who people actually are, therefore it is important that you exercise normal caution when dealing with people you have never met before, just as you would in any other public forum.

Basic etiquette

Please don't do any of the following:

a. Use all capital letters in your chat or Forum postings. It's considered "shouting" online, makes other members uncomfortable, and is difficult to read.

b. Post the same message more than once on the forum.

c. Electronic messages can be harsh. Think twice before you fire off that heated message or reply.

d. Speak your mind freely, but please be sensitive to the feelings and opinions of others. You might not always agree, but you can agree to disagree in a peaceful manner. Please remember it is all too easy for the tone and meaning of electronic messages to be misinterpreted so please think carefully before clicking the "add my message" button. Likewise it is important to remember that things said rather than written can feel much stronger, so please also bear this in mind when reading messages.

Unacceptable language

Please don't post anything obscene, vulgar, illegal (including viruses), harmful, insulting, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libellous, untrue, or invasive of someone else's privacy. We won't tolerate hateful communications -- especially those targeting race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, weight, or disability.

Using asterisks or other symbols instead of the actual letters in an offensive word is not okay if most people can still tell what you're saying. Some examples:

What's okay -- 'My #%$& mother-in-law!'

What's not okay -- a$$hole, etc.

Personal attacks

Harassing another Association member is never acceptable. A personal attack might include name-calling, mocking a user or a user's name or family members, using threatening or insulting language, or violating another user's privacy. Exercise some common sense here. If you wouldn't have the nerve to say it in person, don't post it. If you can't draw the line, we'll draw it for you, but we'd rather not have to. Some examples:

a. What's okay: "I can't disagree with you more. It's this kind of thinking that's gotten our country into the mess it's in!" Strong disagreement with someone's point of view, not a comment on the individual poster.

b. What's not okay: "Why don't you turn off your computer and go sailing, you loser! We don't need any more of your drivel on this board." An uncalled-for personal attack.

You're free to discuss your personal views on the forum. But please don't attack the beliefs and life choices of others as wrong or misguided -- or tell others what they should believe or how they should live. For example, if you are of a particular faith, please don't tell other members that their beliefs or choices are wrong and that they should follow your faith instead. Posts like this constitute personal attacks, and we'll delete them.

Advertising and solicitations

Don't use any community areas to solicit for goods, services, or money, or to advertise or sell products or services to others. For example:

a. Please don't post any advertising, promotional materials, junkmail, "spam," chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any other form of solicitation on the boards.

b. Please don't sell, give away, or ask for prescription drugs (such as unused fertility drugs) on our boards or in our article comment areas -- it's illegal.

c. Please don't solicit subjects for interviews or participants for studies.

Mentioning other Web sites

It's perfectly okay to mention, link to, or discuss other Web sites that are of interest to our users, as long as they don't violate our other guidelines. But please don't use our forum to generate traffic for another Web site or community. This goes against basic "etiquette." We'll delete posts that, in our judgment, generate traffic for another Web site or community.

Other organisations may not post links to their own sites.

Users should be aware that it is possible to find postings made by individuals on the various internet search engines. The internet is an open environment and thereby designed to be easily accessible by as many individuals as possible. We do encourage our users to have screen names for use on the site in order to protect their identity and also users do not have to include their email address in messages unless they choose to do so. We recommend that our users do not include personal details such as telephone numbers and addresses in their postings for their own protection.

Unfortunately it is a fact that sites are occasionally frequented by people who are not who they claim to be. We would urge users to exercise caution when using any internet site and should there be any postings which you consider to be inappropriate or intrusive, please alert the H28 Association Incorporated and we will take the necessary action.
