The h28 yacht association

The Association was formed to further the interests of the H28 class in all respects. We run our affairs independently with our own committee, elected annually.

Around 100 members from throughout New Zealand belong to the Association. While the majority are Auckland based, the appointment of coordinators in Wellington and Christchurch is increasing membership and activity in these areas. The Association also tries to maintain contact with New Zealand H28 voyaging internationally and has a web site on the Internet to encourage contact with Herreschoff owners around the world.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Community

The Association has great camaraderie on and off the water, and members are only too pleased to offer advice on sailing or problems other members may have. Membership is open to owners and part owners of H28 Yachts. Associate membership is also available to people whose interest in the class or whose qualifications may be considered to be of value and assistance in the aims of the Association.

Cruising Programme

A cruising programme is put together each year for events held from Labour Weekend to Queen’s Birthday Weekend in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf. The full programme is published annually. All members are welcome to attend these low key but fun events. Generally there is at least one “rally” every alternate weekend between these dates. A typical rally sees everyone meeting by late afternoon at the pre-determined bay for a BYO BBQ on the beach. In addition there are several key events in the cruising calendar

Newsletter

The H28 ‘Signals’ newsletter is published four times per year detailing Association news and other items of interest to H28 and Associate owners.
